Kathy is the founder and licensed physical therapist of East West Wellness & Rehab. She offers a versatile and well-rounded perspective to rehab and recovery, shaped not only by her clinical experience but also by her own athletic background. Having personally participated in volleyball, basketball, tennis, weightlifting, climbing, running, yoga, and flag football, she understands the physical demands and movement patterns unique to each sport. This firsthand knowledge allows her to connect with athletes on a deeper level and tailor treatments that are sport-specific, functional, and aligned with performance goals. Whether you’re recovering from injury, managing chronic pain, or pushing toward peak performance, she meets you where you are and builds a plan around your unique needs and lifestyle.
Her specialties include cupping therapy, dry needling, and the treatment of back pain, with a particular focus on low back pain, chronic pain, and return-to-sport rehabilitation.
Her diverse clinical experience includes working with chronic pain populations on the Navajo Reservation, treating athletes in outpatient orthopedics, and serving rural communities in Wyoming. These experiences have shaped her compassionate, patient-first approach to healing.
As a first-generation Chinese American and daughter of refugees, Kathy grew up immersed in traditional Chinese medicine. She founded East West Wellness & Rehab in 2022 to bridge the gap between Eastern and Western medicine, blending her cultural background and clinical expertise to create a more integrative, empowering healing experience.
Kathy is a Northern Virginia native who lives in Centreville with her dog, Yogi. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, road trips, baking cookies, attending concerts, traveling, and spending time with her family and friends.
