About East West Wellness & Rehab

East West Wellness & Rehab was founded by Dr. Katherin Duong, a licensed physical therapist, with a mission to bridge the gaps in our current healthcare system and offer integrative, patient-centered care. Rooted in her upbringing with traditional Chinese medicine and shaped by her clinical expertise in physical therapy, Dr. Duong brings together the best of Eastern and Western practices to expand healing options for her patients. Her approach goes beyond treating the physical body — creating a contemporary healing experience that deepens the connection between physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being.

East West Wellness & Rehab offers physical therapy, cupping therapy, dry needling, personal training, and Reiki services. Every session is one-on-one with our licensed physical therapist, allowing us to understand your specific goals and tailor your wellness + rehab program to fit your lifestyle. Along with the personalized visits, our comprehensive care utilizing holistic modalities and patient-collaborative care helps you achieve amazing results in a shorter period of time.

Our team has worked with people of all ages and varying injuries, getting them long-lasting results. We specialize in cupping therapy, dry needling, and treating back pain, but have extensive experience with return-to-sport athletes, knee pain, ankle sprains, shoulder injuries, headaches, chronic pain conditions, and much more.

Our goal is always to help you move better, feel better, and function better. We are passionate about patient education and empowering individuals to take an active role in their healing process to achieve optimal wellbeing.

Our office is located on Eisenhower Avenue in Alexandria, VA and is easily accessible to the people of Alexandria, Springfield, Lorton, Kingstowne, Franconia, Burke, Annandale, Fairfax, and Merrifield.

What to Expect During Your
Personal Training Program

After a complimentary consultation to review your fitness goals, our Wellness Coach will complete a movement assessment and prescribe a workout regimen to get you started and on track with your health goals. Whether it’s a full-body program to build strength, increase endurance, or improve flexibility, our Coach will help you achieve the most optimal results during each personal training session. Progress checks will be completed to assess what has been working well, to celebrate your results, and to set new goals.

Have Questions About Personal Training?

  • How do I know if I'm ready for personal training?

    The best time to begin personal training is when you are ready to take full responsibility for your health and tackle your fitness goals. Regardless of fitness level or if you feel out-of-shape, we will meet you where you are at and work together to create a program suitable for you. Our coach will help you stay accountable and encouraged throughout your fitness journey!

  • What can I expect during my first personal training session?

    During your first session, our Wellness Coach will have you complete a full body movement assessment. This will provide us with more information on how to tailor your workout program towards your goals. After the analysis, we will go over the program and any workouts to get you started for the week until your next session.

  • How long will it take until I see results?

    Your results will depend on your individual goals and level of commitment to the program. We’ll set goals to regularly assess your progress, and make adjustments as needed to keep you on track and moving forward.

  • How can I prepare for my first session?

    To best prepare for your session, please complete the required online forms (link provided in your email). If you did not receive them or have any difficulty accessing the forms, feel free to contact us: [email protected]. We also recommend wearing comfortable workout clothing, having a light meal, and staying well-hydrated prior to your appointment. Be sure to bring a water bottle and be ready to get a great workout in!
