Your Journey to Healing
What to Expect During Your Visit
Our team is here to help. Whether you're looking for physical therapy or wellness support, we’ll guide you every step of the way—starting with a Discovery Visit. During this session, we’ll take a holistic look at your health, lifestyle, and fitness goals. From there, we’ll match you with the service that best fits your needs and get you one step closer to feeling your best.

What To Expect On Your First Visit
Consult Before Committing
1
Before committing to our services, schedule a free Discovery Visit with our physical therapist to see if we’re a good fit for you and how we can help you achieve your goals. We’ll answer any questions you have about your condition or injury and get you scheduled for the recommended service.
You’ll work one-on-one with the same Doctor of Physical Therapy to create a personalized plan focused on your goals and a smooth recovery. We take the time to understand the full picture—reviewing the history of your condition or injury, current symptoms, activities that are difficult, and relevant lifestyle habits—to ensure your care is truly comprehensive.

Gathering Information
Assessment
3
After getting a good understanding of your condition, the physical therapist will perform an assessment to better understand the impairments. This may include testing muscle strength and flexibility, joint mobility, checking posture and desk ergonomics, and correcting form with activities.
Next is providing patient education so you can understand WHY. We’ll go over the evaluation and assessment and discuss first steps. We’ll provide a home exercise program and techniques to help you rehab quickly with long-lasting results.

We Are Here For You
5
Rehabbing an injury is never easy, nor is it a linear path. Which is why we’ll be there for you every step of the way to work together as a team. Instead of waiting for your next appointment to ask your questions, we make it easy for you to stay connected with the physical therapist through text or email, allowing you to get timely answers and guidance whenever you need it. That way we can keep progressing towards your goals and get you rehabbed quicker.
Do I need a doctor’s referral?
In Virginia, you can see a physical therapist without a doctor’s referral.
This means you can start your recovery sooner—no delays, no extra steps. Our Doctor of Physical Therapy is highly trained to perform thorough evaluations, identify any red flags, and refer you to the appropriate healthcare provider if needed.
Take advantage of a free consultation and discover how we can help you move better and feel better—starting today.
Do you accept insurance?
Our goal is to help you move, feel, and function at your best—without limitations.
We provide high-quality, one-on-one care through a self-pay or out-of-network model, allowing us to focus entirely on you without the restrictions of insurance-based treatment.
While we do not bill insurance directly, many of our services may be partially or fully reimbursable through your out-of-network physical therapy benefits. We encourage you to contact your insurance provider for details and offer an Insurance Verification Form to guide that process.
If needed, we’re happy to provide a superbill after each session, which you can submit to your insurance for potential reimbursement.
What are the benefits of self-pay or out-of-network services?
The benefits of seeking our self-pay/out-of-network services include no surprise medical bills, no visit limitations, no limitations in treatment options, and no insurance authorization delays.
With most in-network outpatient clinics, physical therapists (PT) double or triple book patients, resulting in the one-on-one time lasting only 15-30 minutes before being passed on to a PTA or rehab aide. With less one-on-one time given to the patient at the traditional outpatient clinics, patients are stuck with going into the clinic for 2-3 visits/week for 6-12 weeks – racking up a lot of time and co-pays.
However, going self-pay allows East West Wellness & Rehab to be contracted to YOU. Your goals are our priorities. This allows us the freedom to provide personalized, one-on-one care with you (and only you) for the entire hour session. With increased one-on-one time with our licensed PT, we only need to see patients 1 visit/week for an average of 4 weeks. That is 2-8 weeks quicker than your in-network PT clinic! Which in the end, saves you time and money. Best of all, you get to return to your daily activities and sports, pain-free, while trusting that the progress you made will be long-lasting and prevent future injuries.
